Obstacle + Laser Run
Laser Run
Laser-Run combines Running and Shooting in fast-paced and dynamic races including four rounds of laser pistol shooting from 10-meter distance and five times 600-meter run*. Athletes have to hit a target 5 times before proceeding to run. The total number of hits is 20 and the total running distance is 3,000 meters*.
2 medal events will be conducted:
1) Individual (Men)
2) Individual (Women)
*Distance may vary depending on the softness of the sand, which the running distance can be reduced by 20%.
Beach Triathle
Triathle is another Modern Pentathlon sub-sport where athletes compete in a shoot-swim-run competition. The athletes will start the race with 50m open water swimming, followed by laser pistol shooting from 10-meter distance and then 600-meter run*. The sequence repeats 4 times.
Athletes have to hit a target 5 times before proceeding to run. The total number of hits is 20, and the total swimming & running distance are 200 meters & 3,000 meters*, respectively.

Obstacle + Laser Run
Obstacle is an exciting new addition to the Modern Pentathlon sports portfolio, set to make its debut at the SEA Games 2025.
Athletes will first take on the Obstacle discipline, navigating a challenging 100-meter course featuring eight obstacle structures. Their performance in this stage will determine the handicapped start time for the subsequent Laser-Run discipline.
Laser-Run combines precision and endurance, featuring four rounds of laser pistol shooting from a 10-meter distance and five 600-meter runs*. Athletes must hit the target five times before advancing to the next run, accumulating a total of 20 hits and covering a 3,000-meter running distance*.
This thrilling combination of agility, accuracy, and stamina brings a new level of excitement to the Modern Pentathlon.
